Fairmont, W. VA., -- The Football team battled Notre Dame College all game long but Notre Dame College pulled away late to win 30-6. Notre Dame improved to 7-2 on the year and Fairmont State falls to 3-6.
Fairmont State had fast start scoring on their opening drive to take a 6-0 lead. Scoring was Don Washington, he had a 20 yard rushing touchdown. After that it was a back and forth defensive battle. Notre Dame finally broke through in the second quarter to take a 7-6 lead. Your Falcons had their chances in the second quarter just couldn't capitalize when they had the ball deep in Notre Dame territory. Notre Dame added another Touchdown late to take a 14-6 lead into the half.
The 3rd Quarter again was a back and forth battle. Notre Dame College added 16 points in the 4th quarter to close out the win. Leading the way for your Falcons offensively was Myles Miree with 116 yards rushing on 27 carries. Kobe Harris had 6 catches for 83 yards as well. Leading the way defensively was Brocton Blair with 13 tackles and Anthony Fordham with 5 tackles and a forced fumble. Fairmont State is back in action next Saturday at noon against Glenville State, it is also senior day.
