FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Serenity Thomas recorded a multi-goal game and Kiera Kuzinski and Isabella Maldonado added scores as the Fairmont State (6-7-2, 5-6-1 Mountain East Conference) soccer team bested Wheeling (5-8-2, 2-7-2 MEC) in a conference divisional game at Duvall-Rosier Field in Fairmont, W.Va.

The Falcons outshot Wheeling 18-8 and tallied three more shots on target. FSU added five corner kicks while limiting the Cardinals to none. Olivia Johnston reeled in a pair of saves in the match.

The Falcons found the equalizer in the 23rd minute on Thomas' first goal of the afternoon that leveled the score, 1-1. Less than five minutes later, Lauren Dye handled a deflection on a corner kick and angled a pass to Kuzinski, who directed the pass into the back of the net to put the Falcons in the lead, 2-1.
