FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State acrobatics and tumbling team (3-0) rattled off its third win of the season versus Davis & Elkins (0-1) on Wednesday (March 1) at Joe Retton Arena.

The Falcons got off to a hot start and won the Compulsory round, 36.35-17.70. The Acro team of
Chloe Smith, Izaria McWhorter-Martin,
Kassidy Price,
Brionni Dowson,
Rylee Vinson,
Olivia Daniels,
Emily Brock,
Lauren Whittier and Elizabeth Mauer started the night with a 9.00 score. The Pyramid squad turned in a 9.65 and the Toss team posted a 9.60 out of 10.00 possible points. The Tumbling Compulsory routine scored an 8.10 to conclude the opening round.

In the Acro round, the 5 Element team of Katy Koehl, Vinson, Brock and Maurer fired a 9.05 out of 9.95. The 6 Element squad scored an 8.85 and the 7 Element routine that featured
Sophia Del Greco,
Zara Christophe,
Peyton Barnes, Knotts and
Madeline Walker recorded a 9.15 to give the Falcons a 27.05-19.70 win in the Acro event.

All three pyramid routines Fairmont State competed in scored above nine points. The Inversion pyramid team of Christophe, Barnes, McWhorter-Martin, Knotts, Dowson, Brock, hope Kiszka, Maurer,
Alexa Wilson and
Jacklyn Kelly shined with a 9.70 score. The Synchronized pyramid scored a 9.30 and the Open Pyramid team landed a 9.65 to conclude the first half. Fairmont State held a 92.05-61.65 advantage at the break.

The 450 Salto team of Del Greco, Koehl, McWhorter-Martin, Knotts, Wilson and Barnes kicked off the second half with a 9.45 out of a possible 9.90 points. The Synchronized team completed its routine with a 9.05 and the Open team scored a 9.30. Fairmont State claimed a 27.80-22.40 win in the Toss Event.

Giavana Poyner and Brock teamed up for the Duo Pass and scored an 8.30. The trio of Del Greco, Koehl and Christophe fired an 8.80 in the Trio Pass and Smith, Openlander, Moore and Vinson scored an 8.55 in the Quad Pass. In the individual events, Poyner completed an amazing Aerial Pass for 9.575 out of 9.70 possible points. Christophe landed a 9.375 in the 6 Element pass and Koehl dazzled with a 9.60 in the Open pass.

The Falcons concluded the evening with a score of 95.63 in the team event and improved their score by over four points from the season-opening meet. Fairmont State moved to 3-0 with a final score of 269.68-125.775.

The Fairmont State acrobatics & tumbling team will travel south for spring break and will be back on the mat next Wednesday (March 8) with a meet versus Presbyterian at 7 p.m. from Clinton, S.C.
