BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State (8-22, 7-9 in Mountain East Conference play) baseball team secured the series win after scoring three-straight runs in game two versus Alderson Broaddus (9-23, 3-13) at the Bridge Sports Complex on Monday (April 10).

Game One – Alderson Broaddus 11, Fairmont State 4
AB tallied two runs in the first frame and three in the top of the second inning and led 5-0 after two innings.
Vince Sabatino belted his second home run of the season down the left field line and the Falcons got on the board.
AB added four more runs in the top of the fourth inning and held an 9-2 lead midway through the fourth.
Quintin Reep scored
Ryan Goff on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning for his fifth RBI of the year. AB tacked on a run in the fifth on a solo home run.
Noah Armstrong pulled a ball over the right field wall on a two-run shot that scored
Alex Tennant in the bottom of the fifth. AB scored one run in the top of the sixth and took game one, 11-4.

Armstrong finished with a pair of hits and RBIs.
Vince Sabatino and Tennant also chipped in one hit each.
Evan McDade completed a scoreless inning in the seventh on the mound. The Falcons allowed nine walks and four hit batters in game one.

Game Two – Fairmont State 3, Alderson Broaddus 1
AB claimed a lead after a sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning. Fairmont State stranded five runners on base in the first four innings and the Battlers led 1-0 after four. With one out in the fifth,
Connor Bailey reached first on an infield hit for his second knock of the game. Tennant delivered a clutch, two-out line drive hit down the left field line that tied the game in the fifth.

Jacob Young settled in and kept AB off the scoreboard. He stepped up in the sixth inning when the first two Battlers reached base. Young made a spin-throw to third base on a bunt attempt for the first out of the inning. He then induced a strike out and a fly out to hold AB scoreless and keep the game even at one.

Goff drew a walk with one out in the bottom of the sixth and proceeded to steal second base with two outs.
Cade Sikoski walked and kept the line moving.
Noah Canterbury walked to load the bases for Bailey. Bailey dropped a line drive in front of the right fielder and provided a two-RBI base hit to give the Falcons a late lead. Young recorded the first out of the seventh inning and was replaced by
Alex Seymour out of the bullpen. AB managed to move the tying run to second base with one out in the seventh. Seymour forced a fly out and a strike out to end the game and gave the Falcons a series win over the Battlers.

Bailey's three hits and two RBIs boosted the Fairmont State offense. Sabatino, Tennant and Goff all had hits in the series finale. Young dazzled on the mound and earned his first win of the season after throwing 6.1 innings and striking out four. Seymour struck out one and recorded his first save of the season.
