Gracie Smith fired a shot on goal in the 11th minute and Isabella Maldonado followed in the 15th minute with a shot on target. Puerto registered her first shot on goal of the game in the 19th minute and added two more in the 24th and 26th minutes. Johnston was in perfect position to grab the save and keep the Falcons in front. The Falcons totaled 12 shots in the first half, and Ashleigh Weaver and Puerto aimed shots on goal in the final minutes of the half. Fairmont State held a 1-0 advantage at the halfway mark.
