SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Fairmont State (3-2-0, 2-1-0 Mountain East Conference) women's soccer team fell at Notre Dame (Ohio) (1-2-2, 1-2-0 MEC) on Sunday (Sept. 17) afternoon at Mueller Field in South Euclid, Ohio.

NDC scored the game's first goal in the 17
th minute when Mia Maruna netted an unassisted goal. The Falcons responded in 15 seconds when
Gabi Madrid lofted a pass to
Kylee Kosek, who kicked the ball into the back of the net for the equalizer to even the score 1-1. NDC capitalized on an opportunity at the end of the half when Drew Barr delivered a pass to Miriam Szijarto, who scored with 12 seconds to go in the first half. Notre Dame (Ohio) led 2-1 at the halfway mark.

NDC tacked on another goal in the 69
th minute with an Anaya Edwards unassisted goal. Fairmont State goalie
Olivia Johnston made six saves, including a penalty shot save, in the contest.
Kiera Kuzinski logged a pair of shots and a shot on goal in her return to the pitch. Kosek added three shots and two shots on goal. Fairmont State was held to five shots and three shots on goal. NDC fired 19 shots and 11 on goal in game.

The Fairmont State women's soccer team will start a two-game homestand on Wednesday (Sept. 20) when Salem visits Duvall-Rosier Field at 7 p.m.
