SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- The Fairmont State University men's basketball team hit the road to face Notre Dame College. The Falcons bested the home side, 79-63.
Fairmont State (12-4, 5-4) had a quick start with seven-straight points including four from
David Jolinder. Notre Dame (7-8, 3-7) battled back and evened the score at 13 with 13:08 left in the first.
The see-saw affair strung out over the next 10 minutes until Jolinder hit a three to spark a 7-0 run.
Cameron Whiteside dropped in a layup with 23 seconds on the clock to garner a 36-30 lead at the half.

Zyon Dobbs kept the momentum going in the second half to grow the lead to double digits (40-30). Notre Dame narrowed the margin to under 10 points multiple times but an 11-2 run to lead 55-38 with 13:14 left in regulation.
Trailing 11 (64-53), the home side scored eight-consecutive points to make it a 64-61 game with 4:21 on the clock. However, FSU regained control of the game as it closed the contest on a 15-2 stretch for the 16-point victory.
Whiteside finished the day with 24 points while Jolinder dropped 23 with eight boards. The visitors out rebounded Notre Dame 42-30 while shooting 50.9-percent (28-55) from the field.
Fairmont State welcomes Davis & Elkins to campus on Wednesday, January 24. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
