South Euclid, Ohio -- The Fairmont State University women's basketball team continued Mountain East Conference play on road at Notre Dame College. Holding the home side to single-digit points in two quarters, the Falcons went on to win, 75-46.
The opening period started with both teams matching each other until Fairmont State (14-2, 8-1) used a 9-0 run with four points from
Leslie Huffman. Leading 13-4, FSU maintained the advantage but Notre Dame (4-12, 2-8) cut the difference to four (15-11) with 5:36 on the clock. Fortunately, the visiting squad slowly grew its lead and with six-straight from
Leslie Huffman to close the first, the team was ahead 27-13.
The middle two periods was all Fairmont State. Between the second and the third, Notre Dame scored a combined 12 points while FSU did not let up as it dropped 18 and 19 points, respectively. Headed to the final 10 minutes of regulation, Fairmont State led by 39 (64-25).
Notre Dame had its strongest performance in the fourth period, outscoring the visitors, 21-11. Despite dropping the period, FSU comfortably won the game by the 29-point margin.
Leslie Huffman finished the afternoon with 23 points, going 9-10 from the free throw line with five rebounds and four assists.

Jalen Gibbs scored 14 points each as the team scored 31 points off the 26 Notre Dame turnovers.
Fairmont State returns home on Wednesday, January 24 to face Davis & Elkins. Start time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
