FROSTBURG, Md. - The Fairmont State University men's basketball team made the journey to face the Bobcats of Frostburg State. Midway through the first half the Falcons took control and never looked back in a 97-73 win.

In the beginning of the first half, the two sides went back-and-forth. After Frostburg State (2-16, 2-9) evened the game at seven, Fairmont State (14-4, 7-4) rattled off nine-straight, capped off by a three from Tommy Williams.

The Bobcats tried to cut into the deficit but the Falcons stayed the course and grew the advantage to 16 (28-12) with 10:52 left on the clock. Frostburg State eventually made it a seven-point (36-29) game before the visitors went ahead by double-digits (13) to close out the half. Going to the locker room, the Falcons led 51-38.

In the second half, the home side gave its best effort make a single-digit deficit but were unable to do so. Late in the half, Fairmont State went on a 8-0 run to jump ahead 85-64 with 8:00 left in regulation.

For the remainder of the game, the visitors did not look back and went on to win by the 24-point margin. David Jolinder led the way for the Falcons with 26 points, going 10-14 from the field. Williams (22), Zyon Dobbs (16) and Cameron Whiteside (16) added to the 97-point effort.

Fairmont State will make the trek to Athens, West Virginia to face Concord University on Wednesday, January 31. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
