Just like the first, Fairmont State found itself with an early 7-2 lead. The home team maintained and expanded the advantage as Smith and

Natalie Zemba and McDaniel for the 25-16 win.
The third set was bit of anomaly compared to the first two as West Liberty pulled away from Fairmont State and led by seven (14-7). The Falcons battled back and cut the difference to three on two different occasions, 18-15 and 21-18. The visitors reopened the lead to five before back-to-back kills from Ostvig along with a block by Zemba set the score at 23-21. Ultimately, the Hilltoppers won the final two points to take the set, 25-21.
Both sides matched each other for the first half of the fourth set until the Falcons full grasped momentum. FSU went on an 11-1 run as Ostving accounted for four of the points, three kills and a block. Leading 23-13, Fairmont State did not give West Liberty the chance to attempt a comeback as McDaniel and Smith closed out the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-1.
