GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Fairmont State University softball team took part in the Sue Morris Complex Classic hosted by Glenville State University. The Falcons took on Indiana University of Pennsylvania and battled through the snow for a 4-1 victory.
In the first inning, Fairmont State went down in order while IUP led its half of the inning with a walk and a single. After a walk that loaded the bases, the Crimson Hawks took the lead with a single to go ahead, 1-0.
The Falcons had a chance to tie the game in the second with runners on second and third but were unable to capitalize. IUP went 1-2-3 to end the second as FSU looked to strike.

Bella Hess scored to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead.Â
The slim lead was maintained until the top of the sixth when
Kamilla Slayton led the inning off with a solo home run. In the top of the seventh, Slayton drove in another run, this time on a sacrifice fly to center field as Riggs tied from third.
Delaney Haller allowed a lead off walk but got the next three batters out to secure the win. Haller pitched the complete game, allowing the lone run on just two hits with five strikeouts.
Fairmont State (6-1) returns to Glenville on Sunday, February 25 to face Slippery Rock University. First pitch is set for 10:30 a.m.
