FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Fairmont State University acrobatics and tumbling team welcomed West Liberty University for a dual meet. The Falcons topped the Hilltoppers, 262.715-251.260.
Fairmont State (2-0) jump started the afternoon by taking the Compulsory event, 36.80-35.70. In the toss heat of the event,

Katey Koehl,
Izaria McWhorter-Martin,
Alexa Wilson,

Kaylee Rehak posted a score of 9.85 with a start value of 10.00.
In the Acro event, the Falcons added to its lead with a 27.60 score compared to 26.55 for West Liberty. The group of Smith, McWhorter-Martin,
Natalie Moore and
Alexa Wilson posted a score of 9.45 in the 5-element portion.Â
The home side struggled in the Pyramid event as the Hilltoppers took the event, 28.50-26.00.The open heat was the strongest for FSU as it posted a score of 9.80. At the half, West Liberty held a small lead, 90.750-90.400.
Out of the intermission, Fairmont State had a strong showing the in the toss event, as it outscored the visitors, 28.00-25.10. For the 450 Salto, the team of Smith, Maurer, Kelly, Wilkinson, Blauvelt and
Kassidy Price were given a score of 9.20.
The Falcons widened their lead in the Tumbling event. As a whole, the team combined for a score of 52.625 out of a total start value of 56.55. Koehl delivered a 9.775 in the open portion as she had a start value of 10.00.
With the final event to go, Fairmont State sealed the win. In the Team event, FSU posted a score of 91.69 that led to the 11-point victory.
Fairmont State hits the road on Friday, March 1 to face West Virginia State. Start time is set for 5:00 p.m.
