FROSTBURG, Md. - The Fairmont State University acrobatics and tumbling team traveled to Frostburg State University for a battle atop the Mountain East Conference. Despite trailing for most of the event, the Falcons claimed the team event to take the overall meet, 264.415-264.390.
In the Compulsory Event, Fairmont State totaled a score of 37.25 while Frostburg State had a score of 37.90. The Falcons strongest heat was the Pyramid Heat with score of 9.75.
For the Acro Event, the Bobcats were in front once more with a score of 28.85-28.30. Fairmont State earned a score of 9.55 in the 7-Element heat.Â
The Pyramid Event was in favor of the Falcons, 29.05-28.95. For the open heat, the team earned a score of 9.55 with a start value of 9.90. At the half, the hosts were haed by 1.10 points (95.70-94.60).
Out of the break, Fairmont State outscored Frostburg State by .10 points (27.25-27.15) in the Toss Event. The best score of the event came in the open heat from the Falcons with a score of 9.55.
The Bobcats added to their lead in the Tumbling Event with a score of 54.550 compared to 52.875 for the visitors.Â
The meet came down to the Team Event with Fairmont State going first. With a start value of 104.44, the Falcons earned a score of 89.69. Frostburg State need a score of 87.020 to take the meet. As the hosts started with a value of 103.38, they were awarded a score of 86.99.Â
Fairmont State (5-1, 4-0) hosts Notre Dame College on Saturday, March 30 for the final meet of the regular season as the team will honor its seniors. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
