FAIRMONT, W.Va. - As all eyes fell on the campus of Fairmont State with the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association National Championship, the eighth-seeded Falcons faced the seven-consecutive, defending national champions, Baylor University. The Falcons fell to the top-seeded Bears, 271.170-256.070.
Opening with the Compulsory Event, Fairmont State earned a score of 36.625. In the pyramid heat, the groups of

Elizabeth Maurer,
Rylee Vinson,

Jessi Wolf, posted a score of 9.675.
Moving to the Acro Event, the Falcons tallied a total of 28.325. The best score for the team came in the 7-element as Koehl, Knotts, Gigliotti and Maurer received a 9.650.
The final event of the first half was Pyramid. FSU had a total of 29.050 with a 9.825 in the open heat. At the break, Baylor led 97.275-94.000.
Coming out of the half, the Toss Event jumped started the second half. Fairmont State scored a 26.875 as
Taylor Openlander, Koehl, McWhorter-Martin, Wilson, Mollohan and Daniels earned a 9.550 in the open heat.
The Tumbling Event was next on the schedule with the Falcons posting a score of 52.525. Koehl earned a 9.750 out of a possible 10.000 in the open pass.
For Fairmont State, the Team Event was the final performance on the mat. The host institution started with a value of 104.22 and received a score of 82.670. The Falcons ultimately fell by the final score of 271.170-256.070.
