GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Fairmont State University baseball team ventured north to face the Seton Hill University Griffins. After blanking the Griffins for three innings, the home side scored seven in the fourth en route to the 11-0 game.

To start the game, Fairmont State collected the opening hits. In the top of the second, the Falcons had runners on first and third with one out but were unable to push a run across.

Seton Hill was able to load the bases in the bottom of the third with no outs but a double play grounder and a strikeout swiftly closed the door on the threat.

After a 1-2-3 inning by FSU, the Griffins went to work in the bottom of the fourth. The first run scored on a passed ball. After a walk, a bases clearing triple made it a 4-0 game. Seton Hill added three more runs in the inning for a 7-0 edge.

The hosts added a run in the fifth on a ground ball to the shortstop. Moving to the seventh inning, Fairmont State was able to load the bases once more but were unable to score.

Leading 8-0, the Griffins added two runs on two hits in their half of the seventh. The home side scored the final run in the eighth.

Fairmont State returns to conference play on Saturday, April 13 against Notre Dame College. Game one from Bridgeport is set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
