ERIE, Pa. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Behrend Twilight Meet hosted by Penn State Behrend.
Bailey DeMoss and
Megan Mitchell claimed first-place finishes as the men's and women's teams both placed third in the event.
Leading the way for Fairmont State was junior
Bailey DeMoss as he took home first-place with a time of 27:28.3.
Will LeMaster was the next Falcon to cross the line as he placed 10th (29:17.9) while
David Urso was right behind him with a time of 29:19.4.
Tyler Martin and
Christian Simon broke the tape in 17th (29:58.3) and 18th (30:04.3), respectively.
Isaac Coffman and
Taylor Hohman rounded out the runners for Fairmont State with times of 33:43.1 and 34:15.6.
On the women's side, sophomore
Megan Mitchell was the first to stop the watch with a time of 24:22.9 and the race win.
Emily Viani finished four spots behind Mitchell as she ran the course in 25:43.2 while
Stella Marsch earned a time of 26:31.0 and 11th place.
Bella Haught was the next runner for the Falcons to cross the line as she placed 22nd (28:29.7). Chelsea Sayman,
Caroline Logue and
Stella Episcopo finished in order from 26th-place to 28th-place, respectively.
Fairmont State will next travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5.
