KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Fairmont State University women's volleyball team concluded its trip Kutztown against Franklin Pierce University. The Falcons dispatched the Ravens in straight sets, 3-0.

The first set was all Fairmont State from the start as the team led 17-1 at one point. The Falcons went on to take the set, 25-8.

In the second set, the Falcons grasped the early lead but Franklin Pierce evened the match (8-8). The two sides remained within a point of the other until Fairmont State rattled off five-straight to go ahead 20-15. Facing set point, the Ravens narrowed the difference to four but Natalie Zemba put the final stamp on it as FSU won 25-20.

Fairmont State opened the third with four-straight points with Joey Borelle converting on two attacks. Franklin Pierce responded with six of their own to take a two-point lead (6-4). The Falcons started to take over with a 9-1 run to nearly double up the Ravens, 13-7. FSU eventually expanded the gap to 13 (22-9) as it cruised to the set win (25-14) and winning the match, 3-0.

Baylie Ostvig led the Falcons with 11 kills while Borelle tallied seven kills, four aces and 12 digs. Kelsie Dangerfield totaled 24 assists as Josie Skinn corralled 16 digs with six assists.

Fairmont State (6-2) returns to the Joe Retton Arena on Tuesday, September 17 to face California University of Pennsylvania. Start time is slated for 6:00 p.m.
