WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's cross country teams opened the season at the West Liberty Invitational. The women's team finished seventh while the men's team finished eighth.
Carlina Jacquez led the way for the women's team as she placed 12th-overall with a time of 20:04.
Megan Mitchell and
Emily Viani also ran sub-21:00 times with 20:41 and 20:52, respectively.
Bella Haught (23:34), Chelsea Sayman (25:36),
Caroline Logue (25:56) and
Karah Coffman (29:17) also ran for the Falcons.
On the men's side,
Bailey DeMoss finished the race with a time of 19:35 and finished 10th.
David Urso and
Tyler Martin each ran sub-22:00 times for the 6k with 21:26 and 21:54, respectively.
Christian Simon (22:17),
Isaac Coffman (24:13),
Taylor Hohman (25:08) and
Caden Newton rounded out the lineup for Fairmont State.
The Falcons return to the course on Friday, September 13 for the Penn State Behrend Invitational in Erie, Pa.
