BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State University softball program has been voted as this season's North Division favorites in the 2025 Mountain East Conference preseason poll. The MEC's 11 head coaches each submitted a ballot, but were not permitted to vote for their own team.
Fairmont State topped Frostburg State for the top spot in the MEC's North Division, with the Falcons receiving eight of 11 first-place votes. The Bobcats received the other three first-place votes. The preseason voting is the same order of finish from the 2024 season, when Fairmont State posted a 40-13 overall record and 22-6 conference mark to win the North.Â
The Falcons return three All-MEC honorees including the returning Freshman of the Year,
Delaney Haller. Joining her in the postseason awards that are back for the 2025 campaign are
Bella Hess Abbie Keilholz. Fairmont State opens the 2025 schedule on Saturday, February 15 against Molloy University from Wingate, North Carolina. MEC play kicks off on Saturday, March 15 against West Virginia Wesleyan from Duvall-Rosier Field.
