BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week's Football Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Ethan Vargo-Thomas has been selected as the MEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Vargo-Thomas booted four punts for an average of 49.5 yards in Fairmont State's non-conference win at Edinboro. The sophomore from Oak Hill, West Virginia, had a long punt of 66 yards, pinned one punt inside the 20, and had two punts eclipse 50 yards. Vargo-Thomas has the three longest punts by an MEC player this season: 77, 71, and 66 yards.
