CANTON, Ohio -- The Fairmont State University swimming teams completed the second day of the Mountain East Conference Championships. The women's team remained third overall (239 pts.) while the men's squad improved to third-place with 286 points.
Starting with the women, the Falcons earned a huge boost in 400 Medley with a fifth-place finish that earned Second Team All-MEC Honors. The team of
Alexis Antol,
Olivia Ridenour,
Marra Johnson and
Zoe Hoover combined for a time of 4:05.34. Also on the day,
Mia Abruzzino swam in the 200 Free and earned Second Team All-MEC with a time of 1:58.25.
For the men, the team earned a First Team All-MEC honor in the 400 Medley Relay with a third-place finish.
Carter Redelman,
Zackary Bishop,
George Ferguson and
Patrick Fubio came within 0.02 of the school record as they finished with a time of 3:25.46.
Patrick Fubio also earned All-MEC First Team distinction in the 100 Fly as he finished third. Fubio swam the event in 49.45 which is 0.14 off the current school record.
Carter Redelman also garnered All-MEC honors in the 100 Fly (50.29) and the 200 Free (1:44.16).

Day three of the MEC Championships from Canton, Ohio will start at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14.
