CANTON, Ohio -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's swimming teams continued their push at the Mountain East Conference Championships. After day three, the men's team currently sits in second while the women's team remains in third.
On the men's side, the biggest results came in the 100 Back when
Carter Redelman earned second place with a time of 48.62. The time earned him First Team All-MEC honors and set a qualifying time that was within the NCAA B Standard for the event while also breaking a school record. Finishing right behind him was
Patrick Fubio as he hit the wall in 48.77 to garner Second Team All-MEC.
Zackary Bishop earned Second Team All-MEC in the 100 Breast as he posted a time of 58.62.
For the women, the group of
Rachel Shryock, Alicia Perez,
Olivia Ridenour and
Mia Abruzzino combined for a sixth-place finish (8:11.08) in the 800 Free Relay and was named All-MEC Honorable Mention. Abruzzino also earned Honorable Mention status in the 500 Free as she stopped the clock at 5:15.40. Another Honorable Mention status was given to
Alexis Antol who swam the 100 Back in 1:01.51.
Other Notable Top 24 Finishes:
The two squads will wrap up the MEC Championships from Canton, Ohio on Saturday, February 15.
