FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University acrobatics and tumbling team squared off against Long Island University. The Falcons remained unbeaten after topping the Sharks, 264.500-255.775.
The evening started with Compulsory Event as Fairmont State posted a score of 37.350 to Long Island's 36.300. The Falcons earned a 9.700 and 9.850 in the pyramid and toss heats, respectively.
In Acro Event, the Sharks got the upper hand by a slight margin, 28.050-28.000. The group of
Izaria McWhorter-Martin,
Chloe Smith,
Zara Christophe,
Alexa Wilson and
Madeline Walker received a score of 9.550 in the 5-element heat.
Moving to the Pyramid Event, the visitors once again just edged out FSU with a 28.950 compared to a 28.900. The best heat came in the Inversion as the Falcons posted a 9.750. At the half, Fairmont State held a 94.250-93.300 advantage over Long Island.
The Toss Event is where the Falcons started to slowly pull away with a 27.850 as the Sharks scored a 25.750. The open heat was the best score for FSU as

Kaylee Rehak were given a score of 9.400.
Fairmont State extended its lead in the Tumbling Event as it scored the visitors by 5.475 (54.430-48.875). In the open pass, Koehl started with a value of 9.950 as the judges gave her a 9.775.
In the final event of the evening, the Team Event, the Falcons secured the win with an 88.050 as Long Island posted a score of 87.850.
Fairmont State (6-0) heads to the West Coast on Wednesday, March 19 as it will face Azusa Pacific University. Start time is slated 10:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time.Â
