INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Fairmont State University's
Colton Stoneking competed in day two of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. Stoneking finished fifth in the championship and earned All-American status.
Colton Stoneking's first match came in the semifinal round against eventual champion, Johnny Lopez of San Francisco State. Stoneking took a late lead with a takedown but a reversal by Lopez gave him the 7-5 decision. In consolations, Stoneking battled Joseph Airola of Nebraksa-Kearney and was bested by a 4-1 decision.
His final bout came in the fifth-place match as he faced Isham Peace of Lander University. Stoneking picked up the 12-3 major decision victory to close out his junior season. The fifth-place finish named him All-American for the 2024-25 year and just the second Falcon to be named an All-American in program history.
