Davis & Elkins took the early lead in the first game when it scored two runs on a double to left field. The visitors added another run with a sacrifice fly to hold a 3-0 advantage.

Fairmont State's offense finally got rolling the in the bottom of the third when it had runners on second and third with just one out. Unfortunately, the home squad was unable to drive in a run. However, in the bottom of the fourth, the Falcons were on the board when Alexa Foresha crushed a ball over the left field wall to make it a 4-1 game.

In the bottom of the fifth, FSU had a similar situation like the third with runners in scoring position and one out. Just like the third though, the team did not produce a run. The Senators added another run in the sixth with an RBI single to left field to increase the lead back to three (4-1).

The Falcons started to piece together a strong inning in the sixth as Carly Crowder scored on a wild pitch. Fairmont then worked the bases loaded as Breonna Marietta drew a walk to bring home Grace Sobeck. The next at-bat, Emma Paul curled a ball just inside the left field foul pole for a grand slam and to give FSU a 7-4 lead.

Cailtin Morey went to work in the top of the seventh as she allowed a one-out double but got the next two Senators to ground out and hit a fly ball to left to end the game.

At the plate, Bella Hess was 3-4 while Foresha and Abbie Keilholz each finished with two hits.

Alyssa McCormick followed with a sacrifice fly as Kensy Thomas was able to tag up from third to score the second run of the inning. A Foresha walk loaded the bases that led to Sobeck tripling to center field to clear the bases and make it a 5-0 game.
