FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The top-seeded Fairmont State University acrobatics & tumbling team battled the second-seeded Glenville State University Pioneers for the Mountain East Conference Championship. The Falcons led wire-to-wire for the MEC crown, 266.505-253.140.
Starting with the Compulsory Event, Fairmont State earned a 37.200 to Glenville State's 36.125. In the toss heat, the Falcons performance was judged to be worth of a 9.775.
In the Acro Event, the Falcons received a total score of 28.475. The group of
Izaria McWhorter-Martin,
Chloe Smith,
Zara Christophe,
Alexa Wilson and
Madeline Walker posted a score of 9.625 in the 5-element.
The final event of the first half was the Pyramid with Fairmont State scoring a 29.275. The best heat for FSU came in the inversion heat with a score of 9.850. At the break, the hosts led 94.950-92.800.
Moving to the Toss Event, the Falcons continued to expand their lead with a 28.250 to the Pioneers' 27.175. In the open heat, the combination of

Next on the docket was the Tumbling Event as Fairmont State received a 53.525.
Katey Koehl continued her strong performances in the open pass with a score of 9.700.
The final event of the evening was the Team Event. The Falcons secured the win and its fourth MEC title with a score of 89.780.
Fairmont State will now await the final NCATA National Rankings ahead of the NCATA National Championships held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The event will take place on Thursday, April 24 through Sunday, April 27.
