BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State volleyball team was picked to finish second place in the Mountain East Conference North Division after the league's volleyball coaches' poll was unveiled on Monday (Aug. 18) afternoon.
The Falcons total 37 points in the voting with one first-place vote as the team is coming off an 18-14 season while going 7-7 in conference play. All four All-Conference players return to the court for Fairmont State including All-Americans in
Joey Borelle and
Josie Skinn.
Wheeling received nine first-place votes and 49 points to top the north division poll. Fairmont State (37) and West Liberty (35) round out the top three with both teams receiving a first-place vote. Frostburg State (23) and Point Park (16) finished out the north division poll.
In the south division, the University of Charleston landed the top spot with seven-first place votes and 57 points. West Virginia State (49) notched three first-place votes with Concord (46) landing the last one. West Virginia Wesleyan (34), Glenville State (21) and Davis & Elkins (18) completed the south division poll.
