BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State men's golf team was slotted tied for fourth in the Mountain East Conference Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Friday (August 22) afternoon.
The Falcons are coming off a third-place finish in the MEC Spring Tournament and look to continue to build. The team returns Second Team All-MEC and NCAA Atlantic Regional Qualifier,
Caleb Young along with All-MEC Honorable Mention honoree,
Jack Hayes.
The University of Charleston, who captured the MEC team title last season, received nine first-place votes from league head coaches. Davis & Elkins, which won the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional title and represented the MEC, along with UC, in the NCAA field, was picked to finish second.
