WHEELING, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's golf team had two teams compete at the Wheeling University Invitational. One squad finished tied for fourth while another finished 11th.
Caleb Young brought home second-place with a two-day total of 136, just two shots off the lead.
Parker Conover took home eighth with rounds of 73 and 70.
Nik Tomblin finished inside the top 20 after carding a 74 and 73.Â
Oscar Guazzarotto and
Ben Ritenour had consistent scores of 75 for both days, just ahead of
Miguel Martinez, who had a two-day total of 152.
Colby Bent shot back-to-back rounds of 77 as
Marc Puigdomenech finished with a total score of 154.
Mason Lapana (155) and
Dustin Keener (179)Â were the final two Falcons to compete in the tournament.Â
Fairmont State will compete in the University of Charleston Invitational next. The tournament will take place at Berry Hills Country Club on Monday, September 8 through Tuesday, September 9.
