BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State women's golf team was slotted third in the Mountain East Conference Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Friday (August 22) afternoon.
The Falcons totaled 44 points in the preseason poll including one first-place vote. The team is coming off a fourth-place finish at the MEC Spring Tournament and returns All-MEC Second Team,
Emerson Simons and All-MEC Honorable Mention,
Marra Johnson.
Glenville State, who received 54 points, are the defending MEC champions after narrowly defeating the University of Charleston by one stroke at the 2024 MEC Championships. UC finished second in the 2025 preseason poll with 51 points, earning two first-place votes.
