WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's cross country teams began the 2025 season at the West Liberty Invitational. The men's team finished seventh while the women's team finished eighth.
On the men's side, it was freshman
Donovan Tanouye leading the way with a seventh-place finish, running the course in 19:26.9.
Bailey DeMoss was the next Falcon to cross the line in 27th, stopping the clock at 20:12.0.
Diego Perez and
Tyler Martin were the next two runners to finish for Fairmont State, 21:37.4 and 22:14.4, respectively. The last racers to hit the line were
Alexander Wigal (22:16.9),
Nolan Lamoreaux (22:43.3) and
Taylor Hohman (22:56.9).
For the women,
Megan Mitchell started her junior campaign with an 11th-place finish and a time of 19:32.6.
Bella Haught and
Chelsea Sayman were next for Fairmont State to finish with times of 23:07.4 and 23:39.6, respectively.
Stella Episcopo and
Reagan Raffo rounded out the five for the Falcons, hitting the line in 27:20.1 and 27:21.3, in that order.
Fairmont State returns to the course on Friday, September 12 at the Colonial Cross Country Invitational hosted by Robert Morris University. The men's race is set to start at 8:30 a.m. with the women's race to follow at 9:10 a.m.
