FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University acrobatics & tumbling faced Azusa Pacific University in a top-10 matchup. The Falcons defeated the Cougars, 257.305-246.390.
The evening kicked off with the Compulsory Event where Fairmont State posted a 36.900. The team scored a 9.800 in both the pyramid and toss heats.
In the Acro Event, the Falcons grew their advantage with a three-heat total of 28.350. Their best heat came in the 7-element as
Taryn Laurence,
Alexa Wilson,
Elizabeth Maurer and
Alexis Wilkinson combined for a score of 9.700.
The Pyramid Event followed as it was the one event where Fairmont State was outscored, 28.250-26.450. However, the FSU open pyramid scored another perfect 10. It is the teams second 10 of the season in the open pyramid.
After halftime, the Falcons found their groove in the Toss Event with a 28.950. The open heat of

Cali Way,
Ava Nagata,
Kassidy Price,
Kaylee Rehak and
Alexa Wilson received a score of 9.750.
In Tumbling Event, the hosts garnered a total of 51.925. Shaffer's open pass was judged to be a 9.600.
The night wrapped up with the team event as the Falcons earned an 84.730.
Fairmont State (4-0) welcomes another top-10 team in Duquesne University to Joe Retton Arena on Sunday, March 15. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
