GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University acrobatics and tumbling team hit the road for the first time this season to face Glenville State University. The Falcons defeated the Pioneers, 267.370-256.910.
In the Compulsory Event, Fairmont State established the lead with a 37.100 compared to 36.350 for Glenville State. The pyramid heat for the Falcons was best of the event with a 9.750.
The Pioneers took the lead with a 28.200 in the Acro Event as the Falcons posted a 26.600. Fairmont State responded in the Pyramid Event with a 29.350, slightly cutting into the deficit as Glenville State scored a 29.200. At the half, Glenville State held a slim lead, 93.750-93.050.
The Falcons came out of the half with a 28.700 in the toss event as the Pioneers earned a 27.950. Both the 450 Salto and Open tosses earned a 9.600.Â
In the Tumbling Event, Fairmont State really grasped control with a 55.000 as Glenville State received a 52.200.
Taryn Laurence earned a 9.875 in the aerial pass while
Azia Shaffer's open pass was judged to a 9.775.
Fairmont State secured the victory in the Team Event as its performance received a 90.620 while Glenville State earned an 83.010.
Fairmont State (6-0) wraps up the home portion of the schedule on Sunday, March 29 against Gannon University. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
