FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced its 2026 Preseason Volleyball Coaches' Poll on Monday (Aug. 17) afternoon. Fairmont State was voted second in the north division with 53 points and five first-place votes.
In 2025, the Falcons finished the season with a record of 23-11, going 10-4 in conference as they earned a share of the MEC North Division Title. The team also reached the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. All-American
Josie Nobbe returns as well as all-conference honorees:
Alexa Martin and
McKenzi Martin.
Wheeling received six first-place votes and 56 points to top the north division poll. Fairmont State (53) and West Liberty (44) round out the top three. Frostburg State (30), Point Park (21) and Davis & Elkins (12) finished out the north division poll.
In the south division, the University of Charleston landed the top spot with six first-place votes and 57 points. West Virginia Wesleyan (49) notched three first-place votes with West Virginia State (42) landing the last one. Glenville State (21) and Shawnee State (13) completed the south division poll.
