MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- The Fairmont State baseball team opened up Mountain East Conference play on Sunday with a four-game series against the University of Charleston.

The Falcons came out of the weekend with a 1-3 record and are now 1-5 on the early season. The win for the Falcons came in game two on Sunday evening, a 14-13 offensive battle.

Frankie Wilson led the Falcons in the victory, going 3-of-4 with three runs scored a four RBI.
Alex Levitan also went 3-of-3 with three runs scored and an RBI while
Maverick Keller recorded two hits and drove in a run.

The Falcons scored their 14
th run of the game when
Trevor Malnick was walked home with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth.

For the weekend, Levitan batted 6-of-12 with four runs scored and three doubles.
Adam Meeker also had three doubles and chipped in a team-high five runs batted-in for FSU. Malnick and Wilson also chipped in four RBI apiece.

Nic Rush picked up the lone for the Falcons in the circle by striking out six batters in three innings of work.

FSU will host Concord this coming weekend at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
