BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Following the completion of Mountain East Conference sponsored events for the 2017-18 men's golf season, Fairmont State senior
Bailey Mohr earned honorable mention recognition from the league on Tuesday evening.
Mohr, a senior from Fairmont, W.Va., averaged a round-score of 80 during six rounds of Mountain East Conference action this season, which includes a season-low 76 during the final round of the MEC Fall Championships at Glade Springs back on Oct. 11. Mohr also shot a 78 in the opening round of the MEC Fall Championships on Oct. 9.
The MEC postseason awards were announced following the completion of the MEC Spring Classic at Berry Hill Country Club in Charleston on Tuesday afternoon. After the opening round of the event was canceled due to wet weather on Monday, the event turned into a single round of competition.
The Fairmont State men took eighth place at the event, as the Falcons were paced by Mohr with a 16
th place finish (80) on Tuesday.
Ben Knight also finished in a tie for 20
th place with a score of 81 at Berry Hills.
The University of Charleston took first place at the event, with three of the top six finishers at the event. Charleston's Justin Westveer won a five-hole, six-man playoff to take first place at the event. Westveer was joined in the six-man playoff by teammates Lewis Fenn and Ritwik Jain, West Liberty's Sean Trapp and Shepherd's Owen Elliott and Brandon Dang.
