WHEELING, W.Va. — Fairmont State University finished sixth at the MEC Spring Classic with a team score of 586 (+18), highlighted by
Eric Feng's tie for 10th place, posting a 144 (+2) over two rounds at Oglebay Resort's Speidel Arnold Palmer course.
Eric Feng, competing for Fairmont State, secured a tie for 10th place with a final score of 144 (+2). After an impressive first round of 68 (-3), Feng concluded the second round with a 76 (+5).
Nik Tomblin, a junior from the Falcons, finished tied for 21st with a total of 146 (+4). Tomblin recorded a 72 (+1) in the first round followed by a 74 (+3) in the second.
Mason Lapana, representing the Falcons, placed 30th with a consistent performance, carding identical scores of 74 (+3) in both rounds for a final score of 148 (+6).
Caleb Young finished tied for 31st with a two-round total of 149 (+7). He carded rounds of 73 (+2) and 76 (+5).
Ben Ritenour, a senior on the Falcons, achieved a tie for 49th place. Ritenour improved his second-round score to 72 (+1) after an initial round of 80 (+9), finishing with a total of 152 (+10).
Oscar Guazzarotto, a freshman from the Falcons, also tied for 49th. Guazzarotto completed the tournament with scores of 75 (+4) and 77 (+6), totaling 152 (+10).
Blake Hunt posted rounds of 74 (+3) and 80 (+9) for a total of 154 (+12).
Bryson Mabry and
Marc Puigdomenech rounded out the various lineups with totals of 155 and 173, respectively.
Fairmont State next competition will be the Mountaineer Invitational Individual Tournament in Bridgeport, West Virginia at the Bridgeport Country Club. The tournament starts on Monday, April 13.
