Women's Basketball Notebook
- Fairmont State will return home for two-straight games, starting with a matchup with Concord University on Saturday afternoon at Dan Cava Court inside Joe Retton Arena.
- The Falcons will be looking to snap a two-game skid and come into the game with an 11-10 overall record, including an 8-7 mark in league play. The Falcons are currently in sixth place in the league standings, one game behind Concord and Urbana, who are tied for fourth.
- Fairmont State holds a 31-21 all-time series lead over Concord in a series that began back in 1981. Concord, however, has won three-straight games in the series, including an 81-74 overtime win over the Falcons in Athens back on Dec. 10.
- In the first matchup of the season back in December, Fairmont State erased a 10-point deficit with just 5:03 remaining to force overtime, but Concord outscored Fairmont 12-5 in overtime to pick up the win.

Sierra Kotchman and
Brooke Kurucz scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Falcons, while
Rachel Laskody added 16 points and 15 rebounds. Madison May (24 pts-10 reb) and Riley Fitzwater (23 pts-14 reb) each recorded double-doubles for Concord in the win.

Sierra Kotchman needs just 24 points to become just the 10
th player in Fairmont State basketball history to go over 1,500 career points. The junior currently ranks 11
th in school history with 1,476 career points in her three seasons with the program.
- Kotchman also ranks fourth in school history in 3-point field goals with 238. She needs just 12 more 3-pointers to move past
Emily Puskarich (249) and Ashley Vavrek (248) for second all-time. Kristen Gattuso is the program record holder for three-pointers with 258.
- During the 2019-20 season, Kotchman ranks 20
th in NCAA Division II in scoring, and is fourth in the country in made three-pointers with 77.
- Earlier this season,
Brooke Kurucz became the 32
nd player in program history to go over 1,000 career points. She currently ranks 26
th in Fairmont State history with 1,045 points.

Rachel Laskody is also closing in on 1,000 career points in her Fairmont State career. The senior currently has 961 points and ranks first in program history with a .570 field goal percentage in her career.
- Laskody's 59.3 percent field-goal percentage currently ranks 15
th in the country.
- Fairmont State is an impressive 7-3 at Joe Retton Arena this season.
Men's Basketball Notebook
- Fairmont State, winners of five of its last six games, will host Concord on Saturday afternoon in the first of two-straight home games. In fact, the Falcons will play six of their final eight games of the season at Joe Retton Arena.
- The Falcons are 8-2 at home this season, including a streak of five in a row that dates back to Dec. 17.
- Two of the home victories include buzzer-beater wins over Urbana and West Virginia State.
Dale Bonner hit a buzzer-beater from midcourt against the Blue Knights on Jan. 8, while
Cole VonHandorf drained a three from the top of the key to down the Yellow Jackets on Jan. 29.
- Fairmont State made quick work of Concord during the first matchup of the season back on Dec. 10, as the Falcons topped the Mountain Lions 91-67 at the Carter Center.
- Fairmont State shot 50 percent from the field and got a career-high 30 points from junior
Kenzie Melko-Marshall in the victory. Fairmont State opened up a 24-point first half lead in the game by shooting 58 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes of action.
- The Falcons also got 24 points from VonHandorf, and nine points apiece from Bonner and
Seth Younkin.

Kenzie Melko-Marshall (877) and
Cole VonHandorf (869) are both closing in on 900 points in their Fairmont State careers. If the duo were to reach 1,000 career points this season, they would be the 50
th and 51
st players in program history.
- In addition, VonHandorf is just 14 three-point field goals away from cracking the top 10 list in program history. Steve Custis is 10
th in school history with 138.
- Fairmont State has four players averaging double-figures this season, including redshirt-freshman
Dale Bonner who is averaging 18.7 points per outing. Bonner is also first on the team in assists (109) and steals (44).
- VonHandorf is just behind Bonner at 18.1 points per game. VonHandorf is shooting over 40 percent from behind the arc this season, and is also second on the team in both assists (58) and steals (36).
- Melko is third on the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game, and is also leading the Falcons at 5.0 rebounds per game. Melko is shooting nearly 49 percent from the field and is second on the team with 40 three-pointers this season.

Isaiah Sanders is the fourth Falcon averaging double-figures this season at 11.8 points per game. Sanders is shooting a team-high 58.5 percent from the field, and 84.8 percent from the free throw line. Sanders has also reached double-figures in seven of the last eight games, including three 20-point scoring performances.
