Fairmont State Rounds Out Regular Season with Charleston and Frostburg State

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State women's soccer prepares for their last week of the regular season schedule with matchups against the University of Charleston and Frostburg State starting tonight.

The Fighting Falcons are on a four-match win streak with their last loss coming on October 7th at Davis & Elkins. Fairmont State comes in to tonight with a record of 7-6-2 overall and 7-5-2 in Mountain East Conference play.

The Maroon and White also swept the MEC's weekly awards with Kiera Kuzinski and Angelina Kaylor being named the MEC Players of the Week for their respective positions.

SCOUTING FAIRMONT STATE
 
With the matchup tonight against Charleston, Fairmont State enters the final week of regular season play with a record of 7-6-2 on the season and 7-5-2 in conference.  The Falcons sit in second place behind division Frostburg State who is 10-3-1 in MEC action.

On the offensive attack, Kuzinski leads the high-powered offense with nine total goals and 20 points (nine goals, two assists) as Jessica Schneider follows with five goals of her own.

In goal for the Falcons, Taylor Kennedy has made all 15 starts between the posts and records 1.35 goals against average in those matches.

Last time out, Fairmont State had six different scorers in their 6-0 win over West Virginia State as three senior Falcons were also recognized prior to kickoff.

SCOUTING CHARLESTON

The Golden Eagles of Charleston hold the second place spot in the MEC South Division with Concord being the leader with 36 points. UC enters tonight's contest with a seven-match win streak with five coming via shutouts.

On the offensive end, Keira Hill and Laura Vierhout pace the Golden Eagles with six goals apiece as Hill has collected four assists in addition.

Kaylee Hensley has been the primary goalkeeper for Charleston in 16 match starts and holding a goal against average of 0.68 on the season. Hensley has stopped 54 chances on goal for the Golden Eagles as well.

SCOUTING FROSTBURG STATE

Frostburg States enters the week coming off a 2-0 loss at the hands of the University of Charleston on Sunday and have a record 11-4-1 overall and 10-3-1 in MEC play.

Alexis Pate is the leading goal scorer for the Bobcats with seven in 16 matches played. Pate is efficient with 11 shots on goal and leads Frostburg with 14 total points. Toni Miocco-Fizer follows Pate with five goals on 29 shots on goal.

In goal for Frostburg, Ashley Bilger gets the nod with 16 match starts and conceding 11 goals in those matches. Bilger has a save percentage of .804 and two shutouts on the season.
