Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. -- Fairmont State men's tennis earned its third Mountain East Conference match victory of the season after posting a 4-1 victory at Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon.
In the doubles portion, the Fighting Falcons collected the doubles point after sweeping D&E on the three courts.
Kan Watanabe and
Jacob Boone got the afternoon started with a 6-2 set victory at the No.3 position.
Bartosz Losiak and
Elia Barozzi earned the doubles point for Fairmont State with the 6-4 decision at the No. 1 court.
Alex Stacy and
David Velayos swept the point with the 7-5 victory at the No. 2 pairing.
Fairmont State collected the match victory with three singles wins as well as Barozzi, Watanabe, and Stacy all won in straight sets. Stacy clinched the match for the Falcons at the No. 5 court in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).
Barozzi closed the No. 2 court with a solid 6-2, 6-1 victory over Senator Taiki Umeda and Watanabe followed close behind with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 court.
The Falcons, who were ranked seventh in the initial Atlantic Regional rankings, will head to West Liberty on Wednesday, April 20 at 3 p.m. to take on No. 6 Hilltoppers.
