FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's swimming teams welcomed Frostburg State University to the Mahaney Natatorium. The men's team fell by the score of 111-90 as the women's team was bested by the score of 137-67.
Fairmont State won eight events on the night and set two different pool records. The first record came in the men's 400 medley relay as the combination of
Carter Redelman,
Zackary Bishop,
Patrick Fubio and
Adam Demaree won the event with a time of 3:28.47. Leading off that relay, Redelman swam the 100 Back in 49.96 which also set a pool record.Â
Patrick Fubio had a strong night for the Falcons as he won the 100 Back (52.32) and the 200 Free (1:48.75). Bishop carried the momentum for the home side as he won the 100 Breast with a time of 59.60.
Grant Ridenour claimed the top spot in the 200 IM as he hit the wall in 2:05.26 while
George Ferguson was first in the 100 fly as he swam the race in 53.06.
Zoe Hoover was victorious on the women's side with wins in the 50 Free (25.74) and the 100 Free (55.96).
Fairmont State returns to the Maheny Natatorium on Saturday, November 2 as Davis & Elkins College and Salem University make the trip to campus. Start time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
