CANTON, Ohio - The Fairmont State University men's and women's swimming teams continued its stay at the GMAC/MEC Championships. Following day two, the men's team is fourth while the women's team sits at sixth.
Patrick Fubio got the evening session going for Fairmont State in the 100 Fly with a fourth-place finish (49.66) and was named First-Team All-MEC. In the women's 200 Free,
Mia Abruzzino finished 11th with a time of 1:56.85, earning Second Team All-MEC honors.
The men's 200 Free was next as Gabriel Pergallo hit the wall in third with a time of 1:41.52 and First Team All-MEC. Fellow teammate, Fubio was sixth overall in the event (1:43.66) and was named Honorable Mention.Â
In the men's 400 Medley Relay, the group of
Zachary Groe,
Zackary Bishop,
Carter Redelman and
Chris Hoover placed fifth with a time of 3:33.91. The time gave the group an All-MEC Honorable Mention. On the women's side, the quartet of
Alexis Antol, Alicia Perez,
Kayla Fogle and
Zoe Hoover finished seventh, stopping the clock at 4:08.30.

Fairmont State looks to conitnue its performance at the conference championship with the same schedule on the penultimate day. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. with finals later in the day.
