FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's swimming teams hosted a tri-meet against Malone University and WVU Tech from the Mahaney Natatorium. The women topped Malone, 116-61, and WVU Tech, 134-3. Meanwhile the men defeated Malone, 126-52, and WVU Tech, 126-60.
The women got their day started in the 200 Medley Relay as
Alexis Antol,
Marra Johnson,
Julia Bobersky and
Olivia Ridenour combined for a time of 2:02.24. The other relay for the afternoon was the 200 Free Relay as
Zoe Hoover,
Rachel Shryock, Antol and Ridenour hit the wall in 1:49.18.Â
Julia Bobersky individually picked up a first-place finish in the 100 Fly as she posted a time of 1:08.08. She also finished second in the 200 Free, hitting the wall in 2:13.83.
Zoe Hoover picked up wins in the 50 Free (25.42) and the 100 Free (56.37).
Marra Johnson added to the win total in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:23.68.
Alexis Antol and
Olivia Ridenour picked up the final two wins for the Falcons. Antol finished first in the 100 Back (1:04.24) while Ridenour was successful in the 100 Breast (1:14.16).
For the men, the first highlight of the day came in the 200 Medley Relay as the quartet of
Carter Redelman,
Zackary Bishop,
Patrick Fubio and
Adam Demaree set a pool record with a time of 1:33.85. The other record breaking time came from
Patrick Fubio, who set a new pool time in the 100 Free, stopping the clock at 45.91.
Patrick Fubio also picked up a win in the 50 Free with a time of 21.67.
Carter Redelman earned top marks in the 200 Free (1:45.58) and the 100 Back (54.21).
Adam Demaree claimed first-place in the 100 Breast (1:01.74) while
George Ferguson won the 100 Fly with a time of 52.75. The last win for the men's squad came in the 200 Free Relay.

Chris Hoover,
Zachary Groe and
George Ferguson swam the race in 1:33.19.
Fairmont State wraps up the regular season on Saturday, February 1 against West Virginia Wesleyan. Start time from the Feaster Center Pool is set for 1:00 p.m.
