BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State University baseball program has been voted fourth in the North Division in the 2025 Mountain East Conference preseason poll. The MEC's 11 head coaches each submitted a ballot, but were not permitted to vote for their own team.
Fairmont State finished the 2024 season with a 20-29 record while going 16-12 in MEC play. The Falcons made a run in the MEC Tournament and fell one game short of the MEC Championship series. Two All-MEC honorees return for the team this season with Second Team member,
Quintin Smith and Honorable Mention,
Ryan Goff.
Frostburg State and the University of Charleston were selected as this year's favorites in their respective divisions. Charleston is the three-time defending conference champions. MEC newcomer, Point Park was picked second in the north while 2024 MEC runner-up, West Virginia State was selected second in the south.
