BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference on Friday announced its 2025 Women's Tennis award winners and all-conference teams, following a vote of the league's head coaches. Fairmont State landed four honorees between the two All-MEC teams.
For the second-consecutive year, both
Hope Backx and
Maria Fonseca were named All-MEC First Team. Backx finished the season with a singles record of 7-8 while boasting a 10-5 mark at doubles. Fonseca posted a record of 9-5 at singles while going 11-4 in doubles play.
Lara Smith garnered All-MEC Second Team honors for back-to-back years. She holds a 9-6 mark in singles with an additional record of 10-5 at doubles. Joining her on the All-MEC Second Team was
Laura Maciel. Maciel went 11-4 in singles action this year while also playing doubles with a record of 9-5.
