FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State University and the Athletic Department are saddened by the news of the passing of Murv McDowell.

"Murv was a proud supporter of Fairmont State and the Fighting Falcons," Director of Athletics, Greg Bamberger said.

Murv and his late-wife Emily helped fund scholarships for the football, men's and women's basketball teams at Fairmont State University.
