FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State Wrestling has added 21 new members to the team. They have added 5 transfers and 16 incoming freshmen from the states of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Meet the 2025 Class:
Hunter Elliott, 125/133, Virginia Beach, Virginia: Hunter had a stellar senior season going 30-3, winning a Class 5 VHSL State Championship and being named 2025 Virginia Beach District Athlete of the Year. Hunter was also a 2x Regional Placer, Regional Champion and finished with a career record of 109-24.Â
Austin Wood, 125/133, Newburg, Maryland: Austin was a 4x State Placer in Maryland and capped off his career going 44-1 and winning a MPSSAA State Title for the North Point Eagles. Austin was also a National Prep All-American, 3x prep qualifier, 4x Conference Champion and selected to the All-Met area team multiple times. He finished with a career record of 135-29.
Colsen Spragg, 125/133, Tyler Consolidated, West Virginia: Colsen was a 3x State Qualifier and 2x West Virginia State Placer. Colsen is Tyler Consolidated's record holder for wins in a single season (49) and career wins with 132.Â
Noah Hess, 125/133, North Marion, West Virginia: Noah is a local talent out of North Marion High School. Noah was a 4x West Virginia State Placer and State Champion. He was also a 4x Big Ten Conference Placer, 2x Conference Champion, 4x Regional Placer, 2x Regional Champion and 3x WSAZ Placer. Noah recently capped off his senior year with a 46-4 record and a runner up finish at WSAZ's and the State Tournament. His overall career record was 161-30.
Jojo High, 125/133, Sissonville, West Virginia: Jojo comes over to Fairmont State after spending two years at Glenville State. Jojo was a four-year starter for Sissonville where he was a 4x State Qualifier, 2x Regional Champion and 2x State Placer. He finished with a career record of 103-28 and has placed at college tournaments throughout his career.
Lucas Talley, 133/141, Hurricane, West Virginia: Lucas comes to us after spending two years at Glenville State. Lucas is a 2x West Virginia State Placer and finished runner-up his Senior season. He was also a Regional Champion and finished with 153 career wins.Â
Tyler Wood, 141/149, Newburg, Maryland: Tyler is transferring over from West Virginia University. Tyler wrestled for Saint Mary's Ryken where he was a 4x State Placer, 2x State Finalist, State Champion, 3x National Prep Qualifier and National Prep All-American. Tyler finished with a 110-30 career record.
AJ Nettey, 141/149, Baltimore, Maryland: AJ comes over from West Liberty where he saw starting time and placed 4th at the MEC Championships. AJ was also a state placer in Maryland finishing 3rd his senior year.Â
Carter Pauley, 141/149, Morgantown, West Virginia: Carter comes to us out of University High School. Carter was a four-year starter for the Hawks where he was a 4x OVAC Placer and 2x OVAC Finalist, 3x WSAZ Placer and a 4x West Virginia State Placer. He recently capped off his career with a runner-up finish at the state tournament, helped lead his team to back-to-back state championships and finished 160 career wins.Â
Riley Pillus, 149/157, Moorefield, West Virginia: Riley was a 4x State Qualifier, 2x PVC Placer and Champion. He finished his career with a 155-56 record.
Nate Stephenson, 157/165, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania: Nate transfers from Davidson where he saw some starting time. He helped his team win back-to-back WPIAL Titles, a PIAA Runner-Up Finish and PIAA State Championship. Nate was also 2x Section Placer, Section Champion and finished his career with an 89-42 record.Â
Brock Evans, 157/165, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania: Brock was a 2x Section Placer, 2x WPIAL Placer and a PIAA State Qualifier. He finished with 63 career wins and was also a standout on the Football Field.Â
Cole Turner, 165/174, Preston, West Virginia: Cole was a 4x State Qualifier, 3x State Placer. He had an incredible run at the State Championships and capped off his career by winning a State Title. Cole was also a 2x Conference Champion and finished with a career record of 146-41.
Josh Woyan, 165/174, Point Pleasant, West Virginia: Josh made an impact right away for the Point Pleasant wrestling program and never looked back. Josh was a 4x West Virginia State Finalist, 3x State Champion, 4x Regional Champion, WSAZ Champion and finished with 150 career wins. Josh also helped lead Point Pleasant to three West Virginia Tournament State Titles and three West Virginia Dual Championship Titles. He was named Most Outstanding Wrestler for the Dual Championships this past year.
Jake Stephenson, 184/197, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania: Jake was a terrific three sport athlete for the Raiders on the gridiron, mat and diamond. Jake was All-Conference in all 3 sports. Jake capped off his wrestling career with a Section Title, WPIAL AAA Title, qualified for the PIAA AAA State Tournament and finished with 90 career wins. Jake was a four-year varsity player, 3x All-Conference and was recently named Offensive MVP. Jake finished his senior year helping lead the baseball team to the playoffs and receiving All-Conference honors.
Cooper Durst, 184/197, Ripley, West Virginia: Cooper was a standout for the Ripley Vikings. Cooper was a 4x State Placer, State Finalist and State Champion. 4x WSAZ placer, 2x Top Gun Champ, 3x Finalist and North Canton Champ and 3x Finalist. He finished his career with a 164-30 record.Â
Jackson Pate, 184/197, Morgantown, West Virginia: Jackson comes to us from University High School as well where he helped lead University to back-to-back State Championships. Jackson was a three-year starter, 3x State Qualifier and 2x State Placer. He was an OVAC Runner-Up this past year and was a 2x Placer at WSAZ's. Jackson finished his career with 114 wins.
EJ Wyman, 184/197, Moorefield, West Virginia: EJ had a great senior year where he qualified for the state tournament, was a PVC Runner-Up, Braxton Invitational 3rd Place Finisher and Regional Finalist.Â
Cole Vandall, 197/285, Greenbrier West, West Virginia: Cole was a star on the gridiron and mat for Greenbrier West. Cole was a 4x State Qualifier, 2x Regional Champion, 2x State Placer and State Champion. Cole has the High School record for most falls, most team points, most single season wins (54) and career wins with 156. Cole was also All-State in Football as well.Â
Connor Facmire, 285, Herbert Hoover, West Virginia:Â Connor has been a standout on the gridiron and mat. Connor is a 2x All-State Football Player and helped lead his team to a runner-up finish this year. On the mat he finished as a 2x State Placer, WSAZ's Placer, was a Conference Champion, 2x Regional Champion and capped off his career by winning a State Title. Connor finished with a 150-24 record.Â
Jake Anderson, 285, Keyser, West Virginia: Jake was a two-sport standout for Keyser, He was All-State in Football and Wrestling. Jake finished his wrestling career with a 162-40 record and finished 4th in the State.Â
