Bridgeport, W.Va. -  The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week's Swimmer of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Fairmont State's Mia Abruzzino was named the MEC Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Abruzzino, a senior from Fairmont, West Virginia, won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly and was part of the pool record setting 200 freestyle relay in her final dual home dual meet. The time of 1:59.07 in the 200 freestyle was good for Abruzzino's first win of the meet. Her second win came in the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:01.23. In the 200-freestyle relay, she split 24.89 to help her team to a new Mahaney Natatorium record time of 1:39.70, nearly a second faster than the previous record.
