BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The Mountain East Conference released its 2026 Women's Tennis preseason poll as voted on by the MEC's head coaches. The Fairmont State University Fighting Falcons were picked second going into this year's season.
Fairmont State finished last season 12-7 while going 5-1 in conference play as the team finished second at the MEC Tournament. The team also made it to the second round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
The team returns all four All-MEC honorees from last year.
Hope Backx and
Maria Fonseca, who represented the team on the First Team list as well as
Laura Maciel and
Lara Smith, who were named to the Second Team.
