FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators were announced on Tuesday, May 12. Four members of the Fairmont State University women's tennis team were recognized for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Hope Backx, Maria Fonseca, Laura Maciel and Lara Smith represented the Falcons on the Academic All-District Team for NCAA Division II. Both Backx and Fonseca were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists.

An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 70 percent of the institution's matches played.
